Want to wean more pigs?
Hint: It starts before farrowing.

Piglet conversion is a key performance indicator (KPI) for sow production efficiency. It is calculated by dividing the number of pigs weaned by the number of total born.

Piglet-Conversion-equation

Increasing piglet conversion by just one percent can have sizable positive results on the number of weaned pigs heading out the door and your bottom line. The good news – you can positively impact piglet conversion. It starts with the genetic potential of the gilt or sow and how she is cared for, even before breeding.

This session will identify factors impacting the potential to wean more pigs and recommendations you and your team can apply to improve piglet conversion.
